    DNS provider guide

Hostinger: add the client portal records

How to publish the two DNS records for your client portal address at Hostinger. Each record below is written the way Hostinger asks for it.

    Before you start

Name servers at Hostinger usually look like ns1.dns-parking.com. If yours look different, your DNS is run elsewhere: see how to find your DNS host in the full guide.

    • The records take effect only while the domain uses Hostinger name servers. Records saved while the domain points elsewhere are stored and applied only once the name servers point back to Hostinger.
    • If your domain and your hosting plan are in different Hostinger accounts, the DNS tools are not available. Sign in to the account that holds the domain.
    • With a hosting plan, the same editor is also under Websites, your site, Advanced, DNS Zone Editor.

Where Hostinger shows the name servers

Domains, your domain, DNS / Nameservers shows the name servers in use.

    Fill in your own values

Enter the address you added in Atlas, and paste the TXT value Atlas shows for it. Every record on this page and on the provider guides then shows your exact values. What you enter stays in this browser.

For example portal.yourfirm.com, without https:// in front of it.

Copy it from the card of your address in Atlas. It starts with atlas-portal-verification=

Your domain is read as yourfirm.com. If your DNS provider shows a different domain at the end of the name field, enter only the part of the name before that domain.

    Things to watch at Hostinger

    • If a record already exists with the name of your portal address, delete it or choose another address. A CNAME record cannot share its name with any other record.

    Check that it worked

Go back to Atlas and choose Check now on the card of your address, or ask DNS yourself:

    bash
    dig +short TXT _atlas-portal.portal.yourfirm.com
    dig +short CNAME portal.yourfirm.com

    nslookup -type=TXT _atlas-portal.portal.yourfirm.com
    nslookup -type=CNAME portal.yourfirm.com

Hostinger says a change can take up to 24 hours to reach everyone.

What this guide could not confirm

The help pages of Hostinger do not state the following. Where a label is missing above, look for the field described here.

    • Hostinger articles name the value fields differently (Content, TXT Value, Target or Points to). Use whichever value field the form shows.
    • Whether the CNAME target may end with a dot is not stated. Enter it without one.

    Other providers

The notes about Hostinger are in English, because they quote the labels Hostinger shows on its screens. Back to the full guide
