Automation recipe
An automation that nudges the right person when a task is updated but still not done, so work that is quietly stalling gets attention before it becomes a problem.
Overview
Work rarely fails loudly. More often a task sits, gets touched, and never quite finishes. An automated nudge keeps that stalling work visible so someone checks in before a deadline slips.
This template is the built-in Stale task follow-up recipe in Atlas. Its trigger fires when a task is updated, and its action notifies the user you choose to prompt a follow-up.
Because it is a real automation, the nudge is delivered consistently on the matching event rather than depending on anyone noticing the task themselves.
What is included
The recipe fires when a task is updated, catching work that is moving slowly.
An action that notifies the person you nominate so the follow-up lands with a real owner.
Install from the automation templates page and pick who to notify, with no rule to write.
A steady prompt so stalling tasks are surfaced rather than forgotten.
Adjust the recipient and rename the automation from the automations settings.
How to use it
Go to /settings/automations/templates and select the Stale task follow-up recipe.
Pick the user the recipe should notify when a task is updated but not done.
Install the recipe so it starts running on the next matching event.
Change who is notified later from the automations settings if ownership shifts.
