Whiteboards is a gallery of shared boards for the thinking that resists a document: a system sketched during a call, a workshop laid out in shapes and notes, an architecture argued out in boxes and arrows. Create a board, open it, and what you draw is saved automatically a moment after you stop, so there is nothing to remember to press. Boards are shared with the workspace rather than personal, which is the difference between this and Canvas: a whiteboard is a place a team draws on together, while Canvas is your own arrangement of your own tasks.

• The canvas loads when you open a board rather than with the gallery, which is why the gallery appears first and the board a moment later. When creating or deleting a board fails, the gallery says so instead of leaving you to wonder.
• Whiteboards is for drawing together. For your own arrangement of your own tasks, use Canvas; for a structured diagram you will maintain, use Diagram Studio.
• A board is a drawing rather than a record. Nothing on it becomes a task on its own.

Do I need to save?

No. Edits are saved automatically a moment after you stop, and the page shows when they are saved. If you close the tab within that moment, the last few changes can be lost, so let the saved indicator settle first.

Who can see my board?

Your workspace. Anyone in it can open and edit a board, and only its owner or a workspace administrator can delete it. That is what makes boards useful, and worth remembering before you sketch something sensitive.

How is this different from Canvas?

Canvas arranges your own tasks in your own space. A whiteboard is an empty shared surface for drawing with other people, and nothing on it is a task.

Should I use this or Diagram Studio?

A whiteboard for thinking that is temporary and collaborative. Diagram Studio for a structured diagram you intend to keep, maintain and export.
