Daily briefing

Daily briefing takes what today actually holds, which is your tasks, your calendar and your habits, and writes it as a short piece of plain English rather than three lists to reconcile in your head. The same script is on the screen as text and can be spoken aloud by your browser, so it works while you are making coffee and equally while you are skimming it at a desk. It is a reading of the day rather than a place to act, which is deliberate: nothing here changes a task, so it can be listened to without attention.

• Your own tasks, overdue first and then what is due today, with your calendar and habits, as one short script rather than three lists
• In your language and on your own day, from the time zone in your profile or your browser, with a greeting for the hour
• An optional summary written by your workspace AI, labelled as such, where an AI provider is set up
• Spoken aloud by the browser, so it works while your hands are busy
• The same script always rendered as text, so speech is an option rather than a requirement
• A clear advisory when the browser cannot speak, instead of a control that silently does nothing

• Speech uses your browser rather than a service run by Atlas. Atlas sends the script nowhere to be spoken, and the available voices are the ones your browser offers on your device.
• The script is filled in from your data by Atlas; no AI writes it. Only Summarise my day sends your overdue and due-today tasks and today's events to your workspace AI provider, and only when you choose it.
• A browser without speech support still shows the whole script. The controls swap to an advisory rather than disappearing.
• The briefing reads and never writes. Listening to it does not mark, schedule or complete anything.
• It covers today. It is not a plan for the week, and it does not replace the weekly review.

Is my day sent somewhere to be read aloud?

No. Speech happens in your browser using the voices it offers on your device, and Atlas sends nothing about your day to be spoken. The optional AI summary is different: choosing Summarise my day sends your overdue and due-today tasks and today's events to your workspace AI provider to write it.

My browser has no play control. Why?

Because it does not support speech. The full script is still on the page, and the controls swap to an advisory rather than pretending to work.

Can I act from the briefing?

No, deliberately. It reads and never writes, which is what makes it safe to listen to while doing something else.
