Definition
A burndown chart is a graph that shows how much work remains in a sprint or project over time, helping a team see whether it is on track to finish by the deadline.
A burndown chart plots remaining work against time. The vertical axis shows work left (often in points or tasks) and the horizontal axis shows the days in the sprint. As work is completed, the line burns down toward zero.
An ideal line runs straight from the starting total to zero at the deadline. Comparing the actual line to it reveals whether the team is ahead, behind, or on pace, prompting adjustments before it is too late.
Atlas provides burndown alongside boards and backlogs, so agile teams can see sprint progress within the same workspace they plan and track work.
